Hounding you for photos of your dog!
This summer, the VIEW is asking readers to send in a picture and short description of their beloved dog companion(s) to help us find a new Classic Cape Cod Dog. Our first King of Canines, goldendoodle Flounder of North Eastham, has reigned for two years, proudly representing the Cape and the VIEW in a photo showing him sitting regally in the Provincetown dunes, staring pensively out to sea. He has won our hearts and now deserves to relinquish his crown in favor of gnawing on a generous stash of Milk Bones or Nyla chews and spending more time at the beach with his owner, Ed “Doc” Lynch of Eastham.
Enter your dog in the contest by sending us at least one image of him/her and a brief essay (no more than 100 words) that capture both the wonder of the Cape and the joy of having a dog for a friend. Submit your photo(s) on the "Enter Your Photo" tab above.
We will be selecting a winner in large and small dog categories, as well as 2nd and 3rd place pups. All entries will be judged by our sponsor Katrina Boucher, owner of The Cape Cod Dog in Eastham, and our staff, with input from our colleagues from the Cape Cod Times.
All dogs chosen as winners in each category will receive a certificate and prize to be awarded in a ceremony later in the year. Winning essays will be considered for a publication in one of our summer issues or will be showcased, along with accompanying photos, in a gallery on our website, www.capecodview.net. Photos must be in color, at least 7 MB or higher.
Submissions will be accepted between March 1 and May 1, so that winners can appear in a summer issue of the VIEW.
